Program to convert VB3 (Rita) to VB6

In this project a program, VB3VB6, was created. This made it possible to convert a program written in VB3 (16-bits-code) to VB6 (32-bits-code) instantly. With one of the more important modules (the protocol which takes care of the communication between the database and the hardware) it is possible to instantly convert (100%) with VB3VB6. The obvious benefits with this procedure are:

By thinking in terms of methods instead of programmers, cost reduction and benefits are significant for both the ongoing project and converting it into 32-bits code.
The behavior of the new protocol can be matched towards the old one. This saves a lot of time and guarantees the correctness of the new 32-bit program.

Program to read a Btrieve log file without using Btrieve

The most crucial consideration in a door access control system is the log file. It is critical that the module that reads the log file is doing so in an exact, correct and clear way. However it does not matter how this is done. There are always situations when the question is raised: “Are the data that the log module shows really the same as the data in the log file?”
To answer this question Rita Systems AB created a program that reads the (Rita) log file totally independent from the original log file module. It did so by reading the Btrieve database log file without even using Btrieve!

Photo Identification System

This system stores pictures of card holders, manufactures access cards, and monitors in real time (with pictures) whoever is currently accessing doors. Highly sophisticated, the system gives the operator total freedom in the design and creation of access cards. It supports fields (which can be linked to the database), landscape and portrait orientation, magnetic field information, fonts, colors, and pictures. A debiting system is included allowing charges for produced cards. There are four kinds of reports which can be configured by the user. It is compatible with a wide range of hardware from the leading manufacturers of card printers and magnetic card coders (DataCard®, PersonaPlus ID Card Printer, MAGICARD, CardTagnology's Magnetic Card Coder and Neuron CT-672N).

Surveillance System

Rita Systems AB´s Surveillance system involves a program which checks that everything in the access control system is working as intended. This includes the behaviors of the loop protocol program as well as the backup program.

Visitor Management System

This particular system is a security management solution focusing on visit card management. The system has the ability to produce access cards for use by visitors. Visitors then can be added to a database for fast and easy creation of the new visit card. The system includes keeping track of which reception or entrance the visitor went through. It has also the ability to maintain ticket printer servers over the network. Rita Systems AB´s Visitor Management software has proven its capability in systems from 10 to l00,000 or more visitors.
